please give us the power to blow people's minds with our high voltage rock

We flip through the channels on any given night, and spot School of Rock on TNT. Because let's face it: They broadcast six movies, in rotation.

Me (fiddling in the kitchen): Oh, I'm not watching it. I'll be ready to go upstairs in a minute.

Greg (eating his nightly cookies & milk): Oh, me neither.

And then we are supernaturally sucked in, again.

I guess it's time to admit - with the Oscars just around the corner - that while I love a good movie, I can't resist Jack Black and his kiddie rock band.

Guilty, guilty pleasure.

I loved that movie so much!!! JAck Black is hilarious, and those kids have so much talent! I also like the fact that it is a (pretty much) kid friendly movie.

I love this movie. We quote it often. I just look at Jack Black and start to laugh...he's such a funny guy. I think we all went to high school with a version of him-the sweet funny guy.

I watched it, too... I love it just about as much as Nacho Libre (please don't tell anyone)
I ended up watching it under protest as well and was secretly delighted. Kudos to you for having the courage to admit it!
Oh how our family loves this movie! Just damn good fun. Let me make a recommendation already on my blog: watch Roots with your children. If memory serves, yours are a hair young, but in the ballpark? That miniseries has staying power.

Oh but this is THE. BEST! It is spot on about substituting (except I never showed up hungover. I don't think), and the brilliance of his mixture of rock history & self-esteem-building was priceless.

I own it. You may skip the TNT screening anytime and borrow our copy.

My husband thinks that is the funniest movie--I mean it was okay but I love how funny he thinks it is.

Ha! So true. Did they show "Office Space" immediately after that? Because I would have totally stayed up for that one, too!

PS minnesota matron - i watched Roots when I was in the 4th grade, we got a black lab puppy, I named him Toby Kutakentaye Harris (my last name). Yes, it has staying power that movie!! Oh my word...

PSS I just tivo'd Lorenzo's Oil, I dont know if i should REALLY watch it, do i need to be put in that mindset?!?!?! YOu know how you delay watching things cuz you you know it will make you sad, or you KNOW you will be crying?!?!?!

I love that movie! Even my husband, a devout Jack Black hater loves that movie. I can't escape the tractor beam when it's on TV either, and I own the frickin' DVD.
