dvd blues

We brought these home; they didn't hit the spot. The plots were inplausible, annoying. Talk about some good actors losing their way.

I was spoiled by a season of amazing cinema.

I'm ruined.

See, we just watched "Waitress" last night, and I thought it was OK. Maybe I was seduced by all the lurid pie shots. I don't know.

Mmmmmmm. Pie.

Forgot to add: those other two? ABSOLUTE TURDS.

I haven't seen any of these but Waitress, and I liked it. It made me want pie and babies.

I need to see the three you liked and soon!

loved Juno, laughed and cried...haven't had the time or babysitter to see the others, but they're on my list

I can't believe you did not put 3:10 to Yuma on there... Stephanie has made me watch it twice.

I have more or less given up on Hollywood.

Thankfully our library 1.)has a bigger selection of dvd's than blockbuster or Netflix (yes, really - all the cool indie & "foreign" stuff, too) 2.) its free to borrow them so if they stink I just drop 'em off half-watched.

I'm spoiled like that...I guess my tax dollars are being used for SOMETHING good in the 'hood.
Ok, I have to relent on poor Waitress - I like pie and babies and it wasn't horrible, like the other too. (Nicolas and Ben and Julianne: what the hell?)

The way Waitress ended felt artificial, too tidy. But what do I know: I'm ruined.

Waitress was not what I expected, but entertained for the most part. Haven't seen (nor cared about)the others. We have indeed been spoiled, huh?

And, um, you forgot to mention, you know. (3:10 to Yuma)

hehe

Okay...I will admit...I thought next was a cool concept, but that's cause I'm an action/sci-fi kinda girl! Nothing moves me like a sappy romance too! Maybe I'll watch Waitress on my next Redbox Free Movie Monday!
How very, very sad.

Have you seen The Last Mimzy yet? Lovely. Also...Stardust if you're into fantasy at all.
Juno rocked! The screenwriter is a home town girl and I read her book, Candy Girl, about her life as a stripper (for a year post college). It's a great bathtub read. And I hear you. Really great movies highlight horrible ones. Rewatch Philadelphia with Tom Hanks/Denzel Washington and Tootsie.

I haven't seen Sweeney Todd yet, but I am SO in love with Atonement

I heard great things about "Waitress." I'm a big fan of Kerri Russell's.

Can't wait to see both Juno & Atonement.

We watched Heartbreak Kid in our living room with our friends, and I alternated between being embarrassed and not know what the crap I was looking at... what a bomb.

I liked Waitress, but it wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be. I have a thing for Nathan Fillion, though.

(I'm still too scared to see Sweeney Todd)

Heartbreak Kid was a major disappointment. I haven't seen the others, though. Thanks for the tip. Haven't been to a movie in a theater since May of 2007. I must be a mommy.
