Fifth grade is here and with it choices. There's a band and an orchestra and with one simple school assembly our girl fell in love.
Her beloved: the Cello.
We didn't see that one coming. But she is tender and dear and delicate, playing sorrowful sounds since we brought it home Saturday.
(It sure beats the Early Recorder Days of the Spring. Oy vey.)
It's a wonder, watching her grow, becoming the girl I never knew and only hope to imagine.

Oh so sweet! The boys are going to want to see that big cello! Fun, fun...although I always pictured Lexi with a flute...with me saying, "this one time at band camp", only because she is busy little talker! :)
This one time at Orchestra camp just doesn't have the same ring...
The cello fits her graceful vibe. Hey, your new header is FABULOUS.
Thanks, Mrs. G.
This is my favorite time of year!
One of my favourite instruments to listen to. It seems to fit her somehow.
And this new look fits you! So lovely!
But you can't send her outside to roam the hood with that thing like with the recorder.

there is a long LIST of things that beats the recorder! but yes, cello is very near the top. lloooovely. :)
I love this, Lisa. I always wanted to learn to play Cello and just look at how graceful and beautiful she is
She looks so beautiful in this photo.
Beautiful! I love the cello!
My oldest daughter played the violin. The cello would be a good one for the youngest! We'll see!
Love your new site "look" and new photo. Very nice, especially the header. This is a great shot, she looks very pensive with her cello. My daugher is on violin, and it's a love/hate relationship, so be prepared for the pitfalls of "I don't want to practice!" when the honeymoon phase is over.
I did the same thing when I met the cello. True love.
That is the most perfect cello photo I've ever seen.
So lovely. And I LOVE your new photo on the top left.:)
I'm impressed with her choice. Buddy Budderson wishes he'd taken that one himself. She is a dreamer and a winner, all rolled into one fabulous package.
Hallo and thanks for visiting me...beautiful children...light and lovely post. Just been to visit no1 and only son recovering from knee op to wish him happy 46th b.day. Couldn't help seeing the four year old on his tricycle storming round and round the sittingroom. Know what you mean about the person she will be...all too soon.
The cello? WOW, that's very very cool. That's the one instrument I always wanted to learn. But then I failed the harmonica and knew I was screwed. :)
I LOVE that photo.
She looks like a pro and content, pleased with her new love. I hope she embraces it and that her love of the cello is not a fleeting obsession.

Your kids are so beautiful - maybe I am not supposed to say this, but they were always my favorites.
what a lovely photo!
Hope she enjoys it - as do you!
Love the new look by the way. Very cool.
Thank you all.
We went to orchestra orientation last night, and it was fascinating.
I'm really excited for her.
She is so beautiful and the cello seems to fit perfectly in her hands.
I would love if my kids took up the cello. I love those low notes.
