confessions of a slacker

Google Reader asks me if I am sure I want to mark a kajillion posts as read and I nod quietly in my comfy red chair, the big slacker that I am.

Let me take that back. Despite my dirty house and incessant TV watching, I have been doing quite a bit, between end of school activities and working out and playing house with a sexy virus for nearly three weeks, until we gave birth to a thriving sinus infection.

I am exhausted, and I am tired of being exhausted.

I am not reading; I am not writing.

I am not being my very best self.

But I am listening to the rain fall; resting my head, brewing tea. I'm letting the dishes sit, and making something simple for dinner for the kids tonight, praying for the antibiotics to work their magic so I can get back to field trips, and Zumba, and writing sentences that don't ramble on the page, glued together with commas and longing to connect with the community I adore.

Oh God Bless the Mama! Mamas are not supposed to get so sick! I hope you feel better soon. If you were here I would fix you chicken soup and read blogs to you....

This is a ridiculous time. I want to boycott May and get on with summer already...

So sorry you're still not feeling 100%, though you are the most productive sick person I've ever known.

It's going to sound horrible but I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling like this...

Though I'm not sick...

Just overwhelmed and uninspired.

Maybe we'll recover and join forces again soon!

I'm sorry that you're illin', but I must say that was a most eloquent and lovely description of having the crud.

Thank you, friends. May IS ridiculous and I can't wait for my head to stop hurting so I can get on with things....

Your kind words hit the spot.

Ugh - sinuses do me in too. I hope the antibiotics kick in soon (isn't it like adding insult to injury to fight the virus for weeks only to succumb to a bacterial infection? BOO!)
If it makes you feel better I've been reading a few places but have been too lazy to log into blogger to comment... see, I made the effort for you :-)

Oh, you know that I know what you're writing about! I stopped being able to keep up with other blogs ages ago and so now I just feel guilty. That REALLY helps my creativity!

Thanks, Stu. I took those pictures on that super sunny day a while back. I can't wait for MORE sunny days of the same. :)

We miss you, too. But, you obviously need to rest and rest and rest. It will be gone, and then you will be HIGH from the health surging through your body. I promise.

Love the new header, too!
